FAQs
How does therapy work?
Talk therapy is typically weekly sessions and is reduced to bi-weekly sessions as goals are met and symptoms are stabilized. Depending on the issues presented, therapy could be short term or more in depth.
What is the difference between talk therapy and play therapy?
Talk therapy, typically used with adults and older adolescents, involves discussing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors with a therapist to gain insight and facilitate healing. In contrast, play therapy is primarily used with children, employing structured play to help them express emotions and solve problems. This method allows young clients to communicate at their developmental level through games and toys, providing a more comfortable and natural way for them to open up.
What is teletherapy?
Teletherapy or telehealth sessions are offered online via video and audio. We’ll consult with you to determine if telehealth is a good fit for your needs.
Will you bill my insurance?
If we are in network with your insurance, we will bill your insurance. You are responsible for the entire fee until your deductible has been met, if you have a deductible.
You will typically have a copay once your deductible is met, which you are responsible for paying.
We will call your insurance company to obtain an explanation of benefits and determine if you need an authorization or have a deductible. Until your deductible is met, you will owe the full amount we have contracted with your insurance.
If we are not in network with your insurance, and you have out of network benefits on your plan, you will need to pay our full rate and then we will provide a superbill, which is an invoice you submit to your insurance company so that they can reimburse you directly.
