Therapy for teens and children might look different than with an adult. It still focuses on addressing emotional, behavioral and developmental issues unique to their age group; however, the therapist tailors their approach using age appropriate interventions such as play therapy or talk therapy to help them express themselves. Play therapy can be confusing for parents as there is much more involved than what meets the eye. Therapists will work with families to understand how the interventions are helping engage the children to develop coping skills and work through challenges.
